From the Desk of an Educator

As learning is a continuous process - so is this website.

This site began as an experiment to see if I could do it.  I was attending a meeting for administrators at Calhoun ISD and our presenter, Melinda Waffle was giving us information about a class teachers in our county had been taking.  It sounded interesting, so I decided to try out some of the 'Things' she showed us that day.  Of the 'Things' she presented, I created an account on Weebly and an account on Diigo.  I used neither after leaving the meeting.
Fast forward to the summer of that same year - I've signed up for the '21 Things for the 21st Century Educator'.  How hard could this be, I thought.  How out of the loop could I have fallen?  Well- the answers to those questions are - It's challenging but because I'm interested it hasn't been too hard (just a LOT of time) and I had fallen about 100 miles out of the loop.  Scary, since I once taught computers to K-8 kids.
Becoming a principal pulled my focus out what was cutting edge in technology - and looking back - I have to remember to never let that happen again.  I have to mesh my relationship with technology and remember that for our children, having leaders and educators on the cutting edge of technology is what will help them become 21st Century Learners.
Enjoy!

I recently added an Animoto account to my list of educator resources.  I think this would be a fast and easy way to introduce teachers at the beginning of the year or even the students in a classroom.
